Bijan Haghnegahdar, AIA, SITES AP
Having worked in both landscape and architecture practices in New York City for the last five years, Bijan brings a variegated background of knowledge and skills to the Dirtworks team. With a long-standing interest in urban green spaces and the societal benefits they provide, he is determined to blur the lines between bricks and foliage whenever the opportunity arises.
A first generation American, Bijan spent his childhood summers visiting family in other parts of the world, observing first hand the deep effect environments have on the people they surround. After four semesters of drafting in high school, he went on to earn his B.Arch at the Southern California Institute of Architecture, and complete his study of Horticulture at the New York Botanical Garden with a focus on sustainable garden design. As an avid believer that a better future lies in beautiful places that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also environmentally sustainable and socially equitable, Bijan holds credentials as a LEED AP BD+C, SITES AP, and is a licensed architect in the state of New York.
