Located within one of the largest military posts in the United States, Womack Army Medical Campus is a recognized Center of Excellence for the treatment of depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The new Behavioral Medical Clinic will complement this effort with a state of the art facility for behavioral health therapy and treatment for traumatic brain injuries.

The conceptual idea for the 63,500 square foot clinic is to introduce nature into the therapeutic regimen. The Design Team is creating, in effect, a "clinic within a garden" with a variety of public and private outdoor settings. Drawing upon the nearby wetlands for inspiration, native plants undulate through the ground floor and rooftop terraces creating a series of calming waves, providing interest throughout the year and framing views of the surrounding area.
